About the Royal Oak
A Traditional English Country Inn located In the heart of what is said to be Britain's best loved National Park, The Royal Oak Exmoor in Winsford is a perfect base from which to appreciate all that Exmoor and Somerset has to offer.
The Royal Oak Exmoor was originally a 12th Century Farmhouse and has a fascinating history. Today it's a traditional Country Inn with 4 star accommodation. The Royal Oak offers the highest quality bar/restaurant dining 7 days a week and superbly appointed bedrooms which include several Four Poster King Rooms, Twins and Doubles.
Clean and well behaved dogs are welcome in some of our bedrooms and the bar.
"We consider ourselves fortunate to be able to live and work in such an idyllic location, at the iconic Royal Oak on Exmoor.
Winsford is a small and friendly village with a strong community spirit. The Royal Oak Exmoor is an important focal point for the village and every member of our 18 strong team lives locally, mostly in the village itself.
We're very proud of our team who all work hard with us to maintain the high standards we are known for and to consistently exceed our customer's expectations. We all look forward to seeing you " - Mark & Sally Bradley

About the Royal Oak shop
Following the closure of the only village shop, Winsford lost an important focal point so we opened The Oak Shop in September 2014.
Open Monday to Saturday mornings, the shop has Newspapers, Bread, Dairy and a selection of basic food items.
Free services include a Post Office on Tuesdays and Fridays, Cash Withdrawals, NHS Prescription Distribution service and a parcel drop off point for those not at home to receive deliveries.
Financially supported by Mark and Sally, The Oak Shop can only operate with generous help of our team of volunteers who give up a few hours each month to keep the shop open 6 days a week for the benefit of locals and visitors alike.
Amongst the volunteers you will find our Church Bell Captain and Choir Leader behind the counter every Wednesday, and early on Saturday & Sunday mornings, all through the year, before most of the village is awake, you'll find the Chairman of our Parish Council sorting out the newspapers, rain, snow, wind or shine - even on Boxing Day!
